How to Build Income by Writing Website Content

Almost anybody who has had any type of life experience can learn how to build a website that makes a lot of money. If you are normal human you are surely an expert in something. You may not even realize how many things you are an expert in.

The reality is most human beings do not see how many things they are good at. Few people in the world have nothing to offer in terms of knowledge.

A big misconception about web site building is that you have to be a genious or be good with computers to build your own profitable site. Thanks to website builders all you have to be able to do is point and click.

The first step to making your own website is choosing what website builder you want to use to make the site. There is a wealth of them on the internet.

Some site builders are totally free while others cost thousands of dollars. So What do you do with all these options?

I have set up several websites with several different software programs. The ones I have had the most success with have been expensive, but well worth the money.

Free web site builders are essentially traps that offer you no potential to earn money. They bait you in with a free package that can not do anything.

After you have got comfortable with using their free version of the software they try to get you to upgrade. As you probably already know it always cost money to upgrade.

Even after upgrading these services barely get better. In short do not use any of the free versions or upgrade a free version.

The best thing to go with a all in one package or website builder. There are few of these builders available.

The builders that you do find on the internet that are all in one packages are the ones you need to invest in. They can really help you earn money.

The first thing you will want to start doing is writing content. Create a site map then start writing organized content.

There is a lot that goes into writing content so I am not going to get into that subject. However, if you are an expert in the niche you choose you should have no problem writing quality content.

In thirty days or so you should be able to write about 100 content pages. That is the first step and comes before traffic building.

After you have constructed enough pages you can start attempting to build some streams of traffic.

There is a lot that goes into building traffic to your website.

There is many different types of traffic. There is search engine traffic, type in traffic, return visitors, and traffic from external sources.

It is of high priority to know which method of traffic building produces the most income. Each technique is not the same in how much money it can earn you.

When you figure out what techniques product the most income you keep using them. This will earn you the most cash in the long run.

The best type of traffic to attract is free search engine traffic. It costs you zero money and is highly motivated.

All the money you make off search engine traffic is entirely profit. There is no expenses involved.

The only way to generate search visitors is through inbound links. You have to manually build links to your website.

That text is referred to as the anchor text. The anchor text used in the links that point to your site is the most important part.

That is a very basic over view on how obtaining traffic works. That is all I am going to say about that.

The final part of the process is making money off that traffic you generate for your website. This is the easiest part of the process.

After you learn how to build a website you can earn money off of it several different ways. The easiest way in my opinion is Google Adsense.

All you have to do is copy and paste a code onto your web pages where you want the ad links to appear. Then you get paid when one of your visitors clicks on those ads.

It is a great low maintenance method of earning money online. You earn residual income from these ads for as long as they are posted.

When you built thousands of web pages you can basically quit all together. You will be able to do this eventually because you will earn residual income from all the pages you have ever built for the rest of your life.

There are a lot methods to make money on the internet. You first need to learn how to construct a website before you can harness the power of passive income.

How Long Does SEO Take?

People always come to me with the question how long will it take to get to page one? Do you know how I answer that question. I can’t tell you. I don’t know how long it will take, but I can tell you what you need to do to shorten the time it will take, and that is what I plan to do if you read this entire article you will know how to speed up your results.

Don’t be conservative when it comes to building links. Google cannot ban sites that have a lot of links to them. That would cause big sites with a lot of links to fall out of the rankings frequently. You just need to consistently build links, this really is the most important factor in search engine optimization, the more links you build the better results you will have, quicker.

If I could tell you one thing that will speed SEO up it is to build links to your website on a daily basis. I usually spend about 3-4 hours a day building links. It is probably the most important thing I can do. You will never make money without traffic, and you will never get traffic if you don’t have links. It is that simple. More than anything else you do you should spend time building links.

Don’t freeze. So many people get to position 10 and freeze. They stop because they think that eventually the ranking will get higher, and it may, but you still need to change things to see if you can speed it up. If you drop you can always change it back, but the fact is if you just leave the page as is you may never rise above position 10. Do not be afraid to make minor adjustments and see the results.

Go fight for that position number one. Build aggressive links every single day, not just when you have time. Make changes don’t get stuck in thinking that your site will only rank number one the way it is. Do as much as you can to get that site pushed up in Google. Make a change and wait about 2 weeks to see if it helped or hurt, if it hurt undo it and do something else.

Don’t buy another SEO program, simply learn how to build thousands of backlinks in just a few hours. We can show you the way visit our website today.

Search Engine Optimisation – The Options

by Jason Kendall

Search Engine Optimisation is an ever changing discipline. It works to maximise a website’s ratings on the ‘natural’ search lists on major Search Engines. Natural or ‘organic’ lists form the main body of a SE page. These do not include the paid listings. The PPC (paid) entries tend to feature at the top and right side of the page. Whilst the other free ads have been listed by the SE’s. The order of each site is determined by its ‘importance’ and relevance to the keyword.

Obviously, we want to be as high up the page(s) as possible. If we’re the 7th listing on page 9 then we’re hardly going to get prospects beating our door down! We can’t know for sure about all the criteria Google and the like use to rank us. It isn’t something they publicise to the rest of us!

Because of this, much technical expertise has developed around the subject. We have Search Engines constantly developing new technology on the one hand. Leading to great mystique over their ratings methodology. On the other hand, there’s Search Engine Optimisation. SEO empirically measures and tests data to establish the more significant factors that the SE’s are using.

SEO looks at two different aspects – one is Off Page and the other is On Page. Additionally, demographics have an influence, but SEO doesn’t cover off-web factors. To understand factors relating to off-page, please see our additional editorial.

‘On-Page’ SEO

On-Page SEO is all about changes you can make directly to a site to make it more Search Engine ‘friendly’. This website configuration is fairly simple. The following summarises what’s required – Internal-linking, using H1 & H2 header tags, seeding keywords at the correct density (and in appropriate places,) and to some lesser degree, using meta-tags.

Which may well sound like a foreign language to you! For the most part, although this work isn’t complicated, its effects are minimal. In truth, many argue its relevance has disappeared altogether! Previously we could make an impact with On Page configurations. That hasn’t been possible for a long time though.

The only time that ‘on-page’ becomes important is when you have taken care of ‘off-page’ and have a lot of inbound ‘back-links’. If that’s the case, internal linking and a certain amount of on-page fine-tuning can reap rewards.

Things To Consider… Stay away from Keywords that yield six figure results in the beginning. For example, on Google’s Search Engine you’ll see 70 million listings in the UK for the term Car Insurance. It’s not rocket science to realise that competing in this area wouldn’t be productive.

On the other hand… The phrase ‘Southampton Car Insurance’ only brings in three hundred thousand. (Assuming I was a car insurance provider in Southampton.) This still seems quite a large amount, but it’s actually not in search terms.

We can do much more with this. In point of fact, a phrase like Car insurance would massively set me back. I’d face fierce rivalry from wealthy opposition! Not a sensible option for anyone.

A precise description is much more valuable to us. We call them Long-tail phrases, as they’re made up of a few particularly chosen keywords. Depending on how competitive your market is, the phrases could be from 2 to 7 words long. Typically they will be 3 or 4 words long.

We like to start Search Engine Optimisation using terms that yield less than 500K. However, if the websites at the top of the listings aren’t well optimised, we may stretch to a higher count. In time our back links will grow. Then we’ll get a better rating on some of the bigger yielding phrases. With some effort, it will be possible to have a stab at the big ones within a year. This is a nicely targeted approach. We’re after the people who are really looking to buy, so we go for phrases that convert well.

Your home page isn’t the only place for back-links. Spread them liberally around your website. This technique is referred to as Deep Linking. For example, build links to the pages that group products. That’s because pages like this generally have links to several individual pages. So don’t limit the back links to one page. Google and the other SE’s are looking more and more at how individual pages on your site are listed and treated.

Using Video To Get More Web Site Traffic

by Rick Lomas

Since fast and affordable broadband internet connections are now commonplace, it makes sense to use the power of video to get traffic to your website. Statistics indicate that people, especially the younger crowd, spend more time online than watching TV. Video on the internet is not new, but it was traditionally just for entertainment. Now video is used widely for entertainment, instruction and to increase traffic to a website.

When making a video to drive traffic to your website think of it as a commercial. Commercials used on television are very effective sales tools. Pay attention to the TV commercials and borrow ideas from them. Take a look at how other top ranked websites are using the power of video to increase traffic and sales. A video is an ideal way to demonstrate your product or service and get those important visitors to your website.

Keep in mind that the video is a representation of your company. Choose the people or images in your traffic driving video with care. Make sure they are pleasant. People are more interested in watching something pleasant. Using neutral accents is recommended. Keep in mind that humans listen faster than they speak, so don’t speak too slowly; it will irritate your viewers.

Try not to be too pushy with your sales message, aim for gently persuasive. Video works great for showing rather than just telling. Remember, a picture paints a thousand words!

YouTube is not the only video sharing site; there are currently around 30 sites that will host your videos. To realize the maximum benefit from your video you should consider posting your clip to all of these sites. Some of the hosting sites provide a revenue sharing option. Posting your video to all of these available sites can be time consuming, but it is very effective.

Since you are using the video to get traffic to your website, be sure to show your URL at both the beginning and the end of the video clip. It is also possible to watermark your URL into your video. Once the video is produced, it is time to get it to the masses and use that video to increase your website traffic. Now is the time to get started. Jump in and produce a video that will effectively promote your site. Using video will increase traffic to your website, especially if it is picked up by other webmasters, and goes viral. Using video to get traffic to your website is effective and fun.

Once the video has been made you can download it and submit it to video hosting platforms all over the web. I find that with carefully chosen keyphrases you can get a number one in Google in less than 2 hours. The Animoto Software is online and free to use if you are only doing short videos, but I recommend getting the ‘All Area Pass’ which is very cheap and even cheaper if you use this Animoto referral code: ‘xklrsoeg’ which gets you a $5 discount

The fastest and most cost effective way to get your videos online to multiple video hosting platforms, automatically converted into podcasts and well distributed to multiple podcast directories, social bookmarked and automatically blogged is by using the awesome online service, Traffic Geyser, which has enabled me to get a Google number one in less than 4 minutes.

Are You Making As Much Money As You Can With Your Keyword List?

Keywords aren’t just any old words. If you don’t know what a keyword is, or a keyword phrase, and you’re trying to make money online, then you’d better sit back and take notes. Keywords are words that search engine users type in to a search engine to find your site. If your page is not optimized for the keywords relating to your site, then the chances of people who are interested in your goods or services finding your website is slim to none. And Slim has left town!

Knowing that keywords are so important to our online incomes, you’d think that more Internet Marketers would do a better job of checking on them to make sure they’re still making money. But this isn’t the case. A lot of people think that if they have a group of keywords that is making them money, then those keywords will always make them money. This isn’t true and it’s a prime reason you should be doing routine check ups to make sure you’re still dealing with profitable keywords and not duds.

The time that any of us have to work on our websites is valuable. It would be a shame to find out that you’ve been optimizing your website for keywords that are no longer popular and fail to make money. One niche that continues to change regularly is Hollywood. Celebs popularity rises and falls with the tides. It’s important to know which ones are popular and which ones have had their popularity wane.

Keywords come and keywords go. A few short years ago, MySpace didn’t even exist and no one was optimizing sites for things like MySpace layouts. The same is true for keywords like Facebook Apps and so on. Things change and you need to stay up with them if you hope to make money on the Internet. Failure to do this will lead you to making less money and being overtaken by your competition.

While some niche keywords just disappear, other change to reflect the times. You’ll need to be on the watch for this. It just makes good business sense to cull these old, non producing keywords out of your list. You’ll make more money by continuing to add new, more valuable keywords to your list rather than keep those old dead ones around.

If you want to continue to grow your website, then you’ll need to stay on top of the keyword game. These tips will help you do that. Don’t throw good money after bad. Let other people optimize their pages for old keywords that aren’t being searched for any longer. Watch your keyword list and be the one picking the low hanging fruit

Making money online isn’t as hard as some would have you think. One of the many ways to make money fast online is Project Payday. It comes with a money back guarantee and is probably the simpliest way to get started making money online. You can get started by reading this Project PayDay Review from this work from home Mother.

Microsoft, Yahoo and Amazon Unites Against Google

It is no secret to all that ever since Google has emerged as the foremost leading search mechanism company in the world its competitor Microsoft and Yahoo has been consistently trying to take away such title.

But it is not only in the search engine field that the companies are battling each other out but in any other business ventures such as the search advertisements and even the operating system industry. Now the two companies Yahoo and Microsoft is being joined by another prestigious company that deals with the selling of books, this is the company known as Amazon.

This opposition to Google by Amazon along with Yahoo and Microsoft emanated from the fact that Google is almost total with its project known as Google Books. The project Google Books aims to publish or quite advertise different types of books even those books that are already out of print but still has copyright defence or otherwise called the orphaned books.

This project aims to digitise all books even those out of prints with the aide of the different national libraries and then sell the books online and sell ads done on book searches. The proceeds that will be taken from this venture will be divided among and between the author and publishers where seventy percent of the proceeds will go and with Google where the remaining thirty percent will be accounted for.

Yahoo, Microsoft and Amazon has banded together and formed a coalition that will oppose such action by Google. This is because of the fact that the group assails that with Google controlling the publication of such books there would be a possible violation of the antitrust law and even the right to privacy of a citizen, not to mention the fact that Google can then dictate the prices of such books and would then make the possibility of the search engine giant tagging the books with unreasonable pricing.

The coalition was formed give a united voice in opposing the Google publication project.

Promoting You New Website With Free Samples

When you first start a website your ultimate goal is to gather as many visitors as possible. No matter what your goal, selling, promoting, or just plain fun you aren’t building that site for friends and family, you are building it because you want people to see what you are putting out there. If you have just recently built a new website and are having a bit of trouble building up those daily, weekly and monthly visitors, then this article is for you.

The greatest way to get your site to grow into a powerhouse is to have other sites link to it. When other sites link to yours it has two main benefits. The site will send a certain amount of traffic to your site via the link but more importantly it will make you seem more relevant to search engines.

It’s really quite simple, if a lot of sites link to you there is a reason. The reason is that you are doing or saying something worth reading about. Of course, search engines want to deliver the most important sites to their searchers and the most relevant sites are the most important. Therefore, the amount of links you have pointing to your site directly effects how successful your site will be. As a matter of fact it is the most important piece of the puzzle.

In order to get other sites to link to yours, you will have to grab their attention. You will need to do something that is interesting enough for them to write about it on their site and, in turn, link to yours. This is where it can become a bit more intricate. You will either need to find something truly unique or extremely clever.

Free samples, that’s right, offering free samples is a great way to get a large amount of sites interested enough in yours to make a big difference in your success. No matter what your sites topic is, giving away free samples is sure to draw a lot of attention.

Here’s an example of a free sample to draw in a ton of links from other sites. Give away free samples of refrigerator magnets. Each magnet will have some info about your site along with its name. This is sure to bring you a ton of links without really draining your wallet.

Use free samples to draw tons of traffic to your site. It’s cheap, easy, quick and very effective. Remember the more links you get the more visitors you will receive and the close you will be to your goals.

If you want to learn more about free product samples, you can get some more information at free samples without surveys.

Search Engine Optimisation – Update

by Jason Kendall

Search Engine Optimisation is an ever changing discipline. It works to maximise a website’s ratings on the ‘natural’ search lists on major Search Engines. The natural listings form the main body of a Search Engine’s pages. These do not include the paid listings. On the major Search Engines, you’ll see a box at the top, and a column down the right hand side. These are the paid adverts. Naturally listed adverts have been taken directly from the index. They show sites listed in the order of importance and relevance – according to their algorithm.

Of course, we would like to be as high as possible on page one. If we’re the 7th listing on page 9 then we’re hardly going to get prospects beating our door down! It’s impossible to know about all the SE’s rank determining factors. It isn’t something they publicise to the rest of us!

Nevertheless, an entire industry has evolved around Search Engine listings. So there are the Search Engines busily working on new systems on one side. This causes mass confusion over which methods they use for ratings. And to rival that, we have a large Search Engine Optimisation sector. This involves measuring various factors and doing empirical tests to establish the most important ones to target.

There are two sides to SEO: ‘On-Page’ factors & ‘Off-Page’ factors. In addition there are geographic and demographic factors, but SEO cannot control these. (Off-Page optimisation is examined in an additional feature.)

Search Engine Optimisation ‘On-Page’

Making changes directly to website pages to make them more Search Engine friendly is what On-Page SEO is all about. This website configuration is fairly simple. Doing things such as: Using internal links, keywords, header tags and meta tags.

That might sound like gobbledy-gook, but don’t be alarmed! Actually, though on page work is straightforward it probably accounts for little. In fact, it is widely believed that it has very little effect at all anymore. Search Engines used to credit on page factors in the past. That’s not how it is now though.

The only time that ‘on-page’ becomes important is when you have taken care of ‘off-page’ and have a lot of inbound ‘back-links’. At that stage, Internal Linking and some On Page manipulation can be beneficial.

A Bit of Advice… A phrase that shows vast numbers of results should not be your first SEO target. For example, on Google’s Search Engine you’ll see 70 million listings in the UK for the term Car Insurance. It’s not rocket science to realise that competing in this area wouldn’t be productive.

And Yet – The phrase ‘Southampton Car Insurance’ only brings in three hundred thousand. (Presuming that was my market). Though still large, this is a much more manageable figure.

I would have a far better chance of getting ranked for that phrase quickly than I would for just ‘car insurance’. In actual fact, it takes very deep pockets to get a premier listing for a term like ‘car insurance’. I’d be up against massive multi-nationals! Which is really not a good idea.

In fact, what we really need are terms that more specifically reflect our product or service. They’re known as long tail searches, because they’ll have several keywords. Phrases can be as many as seven words, depending on your competition. Most are about 3 – 4 keywords.

We prefer to begin optimisation strategies with phrases that bring in less than five hundred thousand results. Sometimes we’ll consider higher counts if the top results are not benefitting from optimisation. Over time we’ll gain ground on the larger search terms. This will happen automatically through building back links. We can go for some of those after several months if we’ve SEO’d well. It’s a much more targeted strategy. Frankly, we’re only interested in the customers who are looking specifically for what we offer. There’s much more chance these people will buy!

Back Links should be shared between several web pages on your site and not just restricted to the Homepage. We call this ‘deep-linking’ – and Google in particular likes this. Try back-linking product group pages. They very frequently link up to a range of sub-pages, so driving appropriate terms to them can be very worthwhile. Thus – don’t restrict the back links to just one page. The managing and listing of individual sub-pages is receiving growing attention from the major Search Engines.

SEM Clarified

by Jason Kendall

Traditional marketing is getting continually more expensive, yet less effective by the day. Therefore we must address this issue. We all know it’s vital that all commercial organisations are on the web. But simply having that on-line presence is not enough. Buyers MUST know how to reach you.

Capture this scene – a new retail shop is opened… Stock has been bought, and the overhead is high. The doors swing open; they’re ready for the crowds – And only then realise they’re out in the sticks in a no-through road. What’s worse, they haven’t told anyone where they are. Who’s going to find that store? This is exactly the scenario for 99% of ALL commercial websites in existence.

Marketing has undergone a huge change because of the internet. As the twenty first century dawned, a belief grew that all companies should have a web site. Businesses scrambled to get themselves an online presence, often spending tens of thousands to create fancy graphical sites. Naturally, web designers were very happy. But these new sites weren’t receiving any visitors. The belief was that if you had a site on the web, people would find you. Sadly, this wasn’t true…

Off-line marketing methods are inadequate for website promotion. Traditional marketers would say your site is an advertisement of your products or services. Consequently they’ll recommend the time-honoured promotional methods of newspaper advertising and the media. Sticking to the familiar routine. The great-looking brochure is created, followed up by a wealth of advertising to encourage punters to see the brochure. However, this process illustrates an absolute misunderstanding of website marketing.

The World Wide Web isn’t simply a passive display board. The internet is a hugely interactive environment that allows billions of users to research, discuss, offer comments etc. Enormous website indexes have been developed by the major Search Engines. These make it easy for people to find their way around. Off-line Business Pages would be useless if they weren’t properly structured: You’d never find what you were looking for.

The SE’s have got it all sussed. Which means businesses can no longer use traditional marketing. It’s now essential to be indexed by the major SE’s if you want to be found on the web. But there’s a lot more to it than that… Statistics reveal that almost no-one looks ‘below the fold’ on the 1st page.

Of course, the Search Engines weren’t blind to this, so they developed an unusual paid advertising scheme so any site could get to the top. You only pay when someone actually chooses your advert – hence the name ‘Pay-Per-Click’. How refreshing was that? As companies weren’t charged a penny until somebody (who was searching) chose to hit on their site. This form of advertising is very targeted. It can bring outstanding results if handled well.

Unfortunately, PPC advertising has now become literally swamped with adverts in most fields. The price of many clicks has been driven up massively, mainly because too many bidders are chasing the same terms. Today, it can sometimes be impossible to make a profit using PPC. In particular, where a sale requires a large number of clicks. So Search Engine Optimisation is now becoming a preferred method for many to get to page 1.

To illustrate the challenge: Get onto one of the Search Engines now and look for some keywords that you think apply to you. Can you see your website on the 1st three pages? Most likely not. Which means you’re just like the shop in the middle of nowhere. If the answer was yes, are those terms actually being used by customers?

You may have some successful experience of PPC advertising. But is your campaign properly managed? Is your investment really paying off? Which are your most successful areas? Every thriving campaign is dependent on split testing and measuring. You’ll never get the best results without correct figures.

Sales and Marketing statistics reveal a massive trend towards more and more online trading. There is no other choice but to deal with it – and ensure you’re taking full advantage of all the opportunities.
